Knife of Dreams Irony

The paradox of the daughter of the Nine Moons

Rand is determined to meet the daughter of the Nine Moons and strategize on how to retain his reign. Paradoxically, when Rand meets the daughter of the Nine Moons, he is shocked to learn that it is Semirhage in disguise. In the process of that confrontation, Rand’s hand is injured by Forsaken attackers. Lews battles Rand and controls Saidin, and Semirhage is taken to prison.

The Battle of Malden

The reader finds it satirical that Galina betrays Faile by killing her and all people close to her. However, Rolan discovers Galina’s devilish plans and saves Faile from the traitors. Faile’s husband's armies join hands with Rolan and destroy Galina's forces. Therefore, Galina is a satirical character because he plays innocent but, behind the scenes, tries to kill Faile to hurt Perrin intentionally.

The satire of Egwene

The demotion of Egwene to a novice is a paradoxical action because it is based on baseless accusations. The reader realizes that the primary reason for demoting Egwene from her position in the White Tower is to discredit her and make her less influential. However, Egwene responds by leading an uprising against the White Tower despite being subjected to torture and suffering. Egwene is determined to lead a rebellion against Elaida to be dethroned from the Seat of Amyrlin.

The irony of Elayne

At first, no one thinks that Elayne can lead and is put in a secluded place. To the surprise of many people, Elayne is the one who finds out the Black Ajah moles, and she is captured and detained during the confrontation. However, Birgitte forces rescue Elayne, assisting her in fighting successfully until she becomes the Queen of Andor, leaving many flabbergasted.
