Jackie and Me Irony

Jackie and Me Irony

The irony of marriage

Marriage should occur when two people genuinely love each other. Jacqueline loves Jack and looks forward to a fruitful and happy marriage when they settle down. Ironically, Jack is consumed in his political world and only wants to marry for convenience. After the marriage, Jacqueline ends up depressed because Jack does not truly love her.

Dating

The dating process in this novel is the biggest absurdity. When Jack first meets Jacqueline, he develops an interest in her. Ironically, instead of dating the woman and persuading her to love him, Jack delegates the assignment to Lem, his friend. Under normal circumstances, it is illogical for a man to trust a fellow man to date a woman on his behalf. Luckily, Lem does the assignment honestly and draws Jacqueline closer to jack until they get married.

The irony of life

Life is unpredictable because the people around Jack do not know his potential. Many knew Jack as a young person with political ambitions, but that was all they understood about him. Ironically, the same humble man known by many becomes the President of the USA. Therefore, the irony of life is that no one knows the destiny of someone until reality manifests itself.
