    In the Mind of the Caseworker

    Kind of Activity:

    Individual Writing

    Objective:

    Students will do a close-reading of one of the sessions from this section of the reading to thoughtfully hypothesize what the other side of the conversation not included in the novel would look like.

    Structure:

    For this activity, students will pick either Session Five or Session Six. With the session of their choice, they will write in the caseworker's questions and responses. What is the caseworker asking and how is she responding to Cara specifically? In order to do this properly, students will need to re-read closely and consider the ways in which Cara is responding to the caseworker....
