Why was there so much journalistic coverage of Alex's "cure"?
Students should think back to the beginning of the book when Alex read an article about Modern Youth and the concerns about violence. The fact that Ludovico's Technique has worked successfully on Alex means, for the public, that dangerous young men can be made less dangerous, and thus the streets safer. Ludovico's Technique is considered a solution to a social problem, and Alex is an exemplar.
