Whats the main conflict in Where the Red Fern grows??

The main conflict surrounds Billy wanting a pair of hunting dogs more than anything. His family can't afford them so Billy must raise the money himself. There are subsequent conflicts after Billy attains his dogs. 

The main conflict is that billy want 2 hounds but the problem is that his parents can't afford the money so he needs to work by his self to buy the dogs 🐶
