arnold friend says to connie, the place where you came from aint there any more... take the whole paragraph that appears in the bottom half of the page and explain what arnold friend means.

Arnold Friend is trying to manipulate and control Connie. He is playing games with her psyche trying to make her feel helpless. He is trying to convince her that her home and identity have no power over him. He can free her or destroy her so she might as well surrender to him.
