Like you mentioned, Cole learned that life is connected. He can give good energy or bad energy. He also learned to take responsibility for his own actions, anger, and frustrations. He stops playing games with people and manipulating the system. Cole also learns to see things from other people's points of view. Before his exile, Cole was extremely self centred.
