What was your thought on Francis calling Scout's dad a "nigger-lover"?

Francis reflects the overall sentiments of whites in Maycomb. Being a child he has no problem with expressing hatred of blacks and implicating Atticus as less than an ideal white person. This made me rather sad that the racism was so overt and entrenched in this society.
