Yes, because of events beyond her control Alice is continually forced to question her identity, and in turn she doesn't so much change as she matures. Alice's "childlike" nature never changes because it isn't dependent on either her size or her age..... what it's based on is her consistant ability to ignore the absurdity of life. and regarless of everything else to find enjoyment in the things surrounding her. The most important change or maybe simply transition in Alice is her adjustment to the fact that everything can't always be planned planned and organized, life just doesn't cooperate.......... thus, one of her greatest achievements is to eliminate the stress, anxiety, and frustration that disorganization causes her.
