The above quote is actually a part of a few paragraphs. The narrator, unable to sleep, climbs out onto the bank and gazes up at the night sky. He is awestruck by its majesty, curious about its mysteries, and reverent toward God the Creator. Our narrator finds the night a source of comfort, a place where the worries and cares in our everyday lives can fall away, although they cannot go away. Night calms the soul and allows it to see and feel the presence of God, and it also enables us to see that Pain and Sorrow are a part of God's plan.
