The humor in the incident with Uncle Podger can be found in the character himself. Uncle Podger insists upon doing things alone because he doesn't see anyone as capable. Unfortunately, Podger doesn't see or want to acknowledge his own inadequacies, thus, the entire scene is like a chaotic circus.
