In pre-colonial Nigeria, there were many spellings of the Igbo tribal name. By the time Achebe wrote Things Fall Apart, the spelling was being standardized. Why do you think Achebe uses the archaic spelling - Ibo- instead of the contemporary spelling, Igbo?

In my opinion, Achebe chose to be authentic and factual in writing about the tribe.
