Who is the monster that inhabits in the Yellow Paper and how many spaces are presented in the Yellow then what makes them gothic?

The narrator is actually the woman in the wallpaper, entrapped by John and Jennie.

"I've got out at last," said I, "in spite of you and Jane. And I've pulled off most of the paper, so you can't put me back!"

I'm not sure what you mean by spaces?

I didn't mean the narrator but the monster. In other words, who is considered to be the monster in the Yellow Paper?
