A village by the sea

Do you agree that "A village by the sea reveals the social discrimination in that society?

Both Lila and Hari come from an impoverished family. I don't know if they are lowest on the Hindu cast system, untouchables, but they certainly were low in the social hierarchy of things. Their father being an alcoholic and their mother being bedridden hurt their social status further.
