Mentioned in Part I, but not fully introduced until Part II, Boss McGinty is one of the major villains of this novel. The cruel and brutal leader of “the Scowrers," a murderous society not unlike the Mafia, McGinty is a fearsome leader, described as looking almost like a lion, with fierce eyes and a mane-like beard. McGinty is the undisputed lord of Vermissa Valley, which many call the “Valley of Fear.” The Bodymaster (the title of the head of the Scowrers) rules over the valley with an iron fist, crushing anyone who gets in his way through the agents beneath him. McGinty could be seen as an American Moriarty, though neither as intelligent nor as powerful.

Mc Ginty was the head of the Scowrers and one of the cruel and brutal persons in the novel. He was a very bossy person. He couldn't tolerate anyone trying to correct him or doing his job. He always wanted his commands to be the major priority of his juniors or the people who worked under him. He was a criminal, stone hearted person and showed no mercy. In Scene 3 or 4, he read a newspaper article that was written about the Scowrers by an editor. He asked his people to just go and threaten him and still, if he doesn't stop then just go and kill him. Killing a person was not a big deal for him because all of this had become a routine for him. He has been doing crimes, murders and every dangerous thing from a long time.
