If the story continuted, what would happen next?

I think we could watch Lily blossom into an adult. She stays with the Boatwrights for a few years but opens her own Bee Farm. She is able to let go of her pain and even forgive her father TJ to an extent. I think Rosaleen would be a big part of her life. They have a very symbiotic relationship.
