Is it best for a Prince to be a Lion or a Fox? Explain.

The answer is being both at the right time. Machiavelli uses the metaphor of the fox and the lion to explain the combination of cunning and strength to keep hold of his power. Machiavelli points out that a prince must be both the fox and the lion so that he may draw on the necessary attributes these animals offer when needed.
