Sam, for example, had a job at McDonald’ to try to help out at home with expenses. Still he felt the environment he lived in constantly held the threat of trying to pull him down. Despite trying to do the right thing, he got involved with gangs, drugs and alcohol. He tries to resist selling and taking drugs. His "boys" often accuse Sam of feeling like he is better than them. The boys used positive peer pressure on each other to counteract the negative peer pressure from outside sources.
