Where does Chapter 3 take place?

Chapter Three is set on the road, as the boys walk with the girls to Two-Bit's house in order to pick up his car and drive the girls home. When the Socs appear on the road, Cherry tells Ponyboy that she must go with the Soc boys, since "we couldn't let our parents see us with you all." Ponyboy and Johnny then lie walk to their favorite deserted lot to watch the stars.
