In the book, on page 24 it says "All I know is that young boys sleep late and hard." The correct answer is boys specifically Manolin. I hope this helps and it wasn't too late!! :}

You would be correct, thanks for the correction. If students don't post quotation marks, I don't usually look for direct words in the text. Two paragraphs prior, Santiago is fast asleep and Manolin speaks of the old man as him alarm clock. Thanks!
