Conflict

During their conversation on the yacht, Rainsford remarks that hunting is the best sport in the world. Whitney then notes that the sport is only fun for the hunter. Rainsford pushes his opinion, noting that animals have no understanding of the hunt. Whitney, in turn, points out that even if they can’t understand the complexities, they still understand and experience fear.
