What is the book the Fever Code based on? It's the 5th and newest book in the maze runner series!)

Some people think it's a new book about another maze, others think it's a prequel to something, someone told me the answer but I forgot, I think they said it was a prequel to some book!? Anyone know?!

From the information I've looked at, The Fever Code is the prequel to The Maze Runner.

By now, you probably don't need this answer anymore, but Fever Code is indeed a prequel to The Mazerunner. The book is about Thomas' life before he entered the Maze of the 1st book.
