Women inequality in education?

I cant think of a direct quote about education off hand. Women were certainly marginalised and education for women was frowned upon by the Taliban. Here is a quote that certainly implies that women do not have a right to education:

She was a shy woman, so courteous that she barely spoke in a voice higher than a whisper. She was too shy to look at Rahim Khan in the eyes, but she always looked at Hassan with great admiration. Her first child was a stillborn baby girl. In eartl 1990 she became pregnant again. pg 217
