There is no significance cited in the text. This is a bridal wreath. A little research has shown me that Lithuanian brides usually wear a ruta wreath (Lithuanian national flower), which is burned after the ceremony. I see no mention of roses or leaves as being a significant part of the Lithuanian wedding ceremony.
