What factors make this meeting suspenseful?

Suspense can be found in the men's continued feud, dislike, and desire to rid themselves of each other..... and the fact that they lay together trapped.... equal. There is a distinct suspense to be found in not knowing how it will all end up and if either, or both of them, will act honorably when freed.
