The Hunger Games

Why did the Capitol invent this game anyways?

Why did the Capitol invent this game anyways, where children have to "kill" each other? I mean, that's kind of silly right?

The reason why the Capitol developed this game is because they wanted to see a good show. The 12 districts have a reaping ceremony where they choose two tributes, a boy and girl from each district to compete in the Hunger Games, which is a very truly dangerous race. They start at the training center, and work their way up to showing the "Gamemakers" what their best skill is. Each tribute will get points for their skills. Katniss got the most points, (which is an eleven) because she shot an arrow at the pigs apple, (the pig is dead) and the apple goes onto the wall along with Katniss's arrow. Then she says, "Thank you for your consideration," and bows, then walks away. Haymitch said when they're private session was over, "They really liked your attitude," and Katniss was sort of happy, but angry at herself for disappointing the Gamemakers. Effie Trinket, the tributes assistant called Katniss in for some supper, and Katniss goes to dinner. Then they see the scores, and Katniss gets the most because of her attitude. Peeta got an eight, (which might be good). Then, it's interview with Caesar Flickerman, the interviewer for the tributes. Then...after that, it's the games.

The point of the whole hunger games is to kill the tributes 22 of them. If they do, they must go to the Cornucopia and wait until the last death. Katniss and Peeta work together to kill Cato, the last tribute to die. But then a twist came, and it wasn't over yet, the games. All the dead tributes are turned into mutts, (highly engineered DNA dogs)and both tributes from district 12 kill them, and finally they do. Then Claudius Templesmith, announces the winners of the games...Katniss Everdeen, and Peeta Mellark.

Katniss loves her mother and Prim, but she had to leave them in order to enter the games.
