How old was Khalil when he died?

Question

I don't think the author ever mentioned Khalil's age in the book, and I have to know for a project due in two weeks. Could someone please help me?

The only reference I can find to Kahlil's age is a quote from Starr.

It was because of them that, at seventeen, Khalil was the man-child of his household.
