Should nick help gatsby in order to achieve his plan of meeting daisy?Why or Why not?

Truthfully, I've always found it odd that Nick was a part of Daisy and Gatsby's meeting. He is her cousin.... and he is well aware that she is a married woman with a small child. Perhaps, his knowledge of Tom's affair and his presence at Tom and Myrtle's party led him to take part in that first meeting.... perhaps, he didn't like Tom. It's hard to say why, we can only guess.
