What is nicks carraway in the book ? does telling the story from nicks point of view make it more belivable

Nick is the novel's narrator. He is an outsider looking in..... his values are different, his expectations are different, and through his eyes we attain a believable story. Note, that doesn't mean that Nick's narration is reliable. His opinions are clearly present, which means he is not objective and we see things from his perspective.
