What reaction does David receive from Rosalind and the others when he explain his feelings about Sophie’s deviation? Why is it difficult for them to accept this point of view?

The others must reconcile Sophie's "blasphemy" as being okay. There is irony in this as the others too would be considered "deviations". They know that David's thoughts cannot lie so they accept Sophie.
