Death dryly comments on some of the devastation of World War II, such as the Jews incinerated in Nazi extermination camps and the poorly-armed Russian soldiers being slaughtered by the hundreds of thousands on the Eastern Front. Death likens war to a demanding boss. Death tires of the relentless death that mankind causes that Death must contend with.
