what does Lindo mean when he says," I am not a white man. I am a Jew, and that is very different. you and I are both outsiders"?

Lindo is talking with Meena. Meena wants to know how she should talk with him using black vernacular or black. Lindo replies he is Jewish which makes him an outsider just like Meena. Anti-Semitism existed during that era just as slavery did.
