This is a story of hope. The man doesn't want to leave his family but he hopes that by doing so he can one day give them a better life and a much safer future. Although his experiences are daunting and he is a fish out of water, there is never a feeling of anything in his new country being as frightening as anything he has left behind - far from it. His new world is a beacon of hope and light that is giving him more opportunities by the day. When his family are able to join him he has already built a much better life than the one they have left behind and this in turn gives them hope for the future.
