Why does Huck want to save Jim Turner?

Huck has his own moral code. He feels bad that the two others are using him Jim claiming that he will turn "state's evidence" on them. Huck sympathizes with a guy who wants to do the right thing. When he overhears what the other two have planned, he decides to help Jim and to get the Sheriff.
