Junior says that he spends most of his time with Rowdy. He begins to do a fairly complex mathematical equation to illustrate how many hours he spends with Rowdy. In many ways, Rowdy is an outsider like Junior. Rowdy has no friends and has trouble in social situations. Junior both admires Rowdy for fighting the whole world and feels badly for Rowdy's isolation. Junior, however, thinks that if Rowdy can survive a drunk abusive father, he (Junior) can survive the Rez and going to a white school.
