This story is about personal reflection. The narrator reads of his brother's (Sonny) arrest for heroin use and sales in the newspaper. Through the narrator's eyes we visit Sonny's childhood, and we feel his guilt (he introduced Sonny to the drug). As the story unfolds our narrator steps in to help Sonny with his wife's assistance. Their time together reveals much about both of them and we get to share their private moments of soul searching.
