A Rose For Emily and Other Short Stories

how does first person point of view affect a rose for emily?

I was wondering that if my mian idea is that Emily's cannot accept change or adapt to the changes in her life, how does a first person point of view help shape that main idea?

THANK YOU

The unnamed narrator's first-person point of view allows for a detached, humorous, sympathetic, and clever piece of storytelling. The narrator is fair..... observes the story from both sides, and is sympathetic to both the town of Jefferson and Miss Emily. His objectiveness is refreshing in what is an extremely morbid story.
