Kipling firmly believed that white Europeans were civilizing and improving the world through imperial conquests. He viewed imperialism as a righteous cause, and he believed that European nations were altruistic in their endeavors. Kipling also believed that it was the white man's responsibility to spread civilization throughout the world..... without personal benefits or rewards.
