Romeo and Juliet (Film 1996)

What point do you think Luhrmann was making with this shift in style in the final scene?

Why did Luhrmann create this style change and what point was he trying to make?

Certainly they were shot closeups. The style didn't significantly change but Luhrmann dis pull away from his chaotic music video feel for that scene. He really wanted to focus on the brief second they were both alive and together before Romeo dies. The shot was pretty fluid rather than choppy and full of energy.

Are you referring to the drinking of the poison or the final newscast that doubles for the chorus?

I am referring to the final death scene
