Roll of thunder hear my cry. Plz help this is the last question I need and I’m stuck

Why is it so important at the end of chapter 6 that the Wallace’s move off the bridge for the Logan’s. Do you think that te Logan’s will pay later as mama predicts ?

The Wallaces only moved over because they believed Harlan Granger was driving the other car on the bridge. They would never have moved over for the Logans because the Logans were black..... and at this point in time, the Logans were expected to defer and make way for their white neighbors.

Knowing the Wallaces, we can infer that Uncle Hammer's actions will bring reprisals.
