Eliza was always a sharp girl. She possessed a wit and unflappable sense of justice. She had these traits as a flower girl before she came into contact with Higgins. Liza just learns to refine these traits under Higgins's tutelage. She uses the genteel accents that Higgins has taught her but remains aware that he is being used and defiant about it.
