Mrs. Bennet has always left me with the impression of a silly, shallow woman. Instead of focusing on the things that are important.... her daughters' education and moral upbringing, she only seems to concern herself with making sure they marry the most eligible and wealthy men they can find. Her silliness and lack of propriety often embarrasses her family.

Pride and Prejudice

Mrs Bennet represents a hysterical woman, a stereotype exaggerated by Austen, mocking the general view of women by many men at a time.

Personally, I think she is incredibly silly, selfish, and most importantly, visciously ambitious.
