Although Kunle is obviously a cynical voice, he does raise some valid concerns that Sissie might have overlooked. First of all, there is the undeniable history of violence and racism against Africans in Europe. He tells horror stories about the ways cruel, racist white men have harmed Africans in Germany, which is something Sissie had not considered. Kunle is trying to teach her (in a limited, highly symbolic way) that she is disenfranchised in Europe. Back home, she is normal, but here she is stuck in a difficult intersection, because she is not skilled at life in Germany.
