Lennie's motives

What is lennie's motive? From reading between chapters 1&2 and inculde 3 quotes from the book only from the 2 chapters.

Lennie's greatest motivation in the text is his future..... the farm he and George plan to purchase, where they can work for themselves. Lennie's work will include taking care of his rabbits.

“Tried and tried,” said Lennie, “but it didn’t do no good. I remember about the rabbits, George.”

“I wisht we’d get the rabbits pretty soon, George. They ain’t so little.”

Lennie spoke craftily, “Tell me—like you done before.” “Tell you what?” “About the rabbits.”
