In the book Mice of Men
When George and Lennie arrive, they are the only men at the ranch who share a friendship. Over the course of the novel, both Candy and Crooks warm to the men and share in the dream.... a commonality. George and Slim also embark on a friendship that stems from mutual trust and respect.
