Tiresias, prophet of Apollo, is blind. He tells Oedipus that although his eye -sight is clear, he (Oedipus) is a "dumb-ass". Tiresais isn't talking about Oedipus's eyesight anymore. He says that Oedipus is blind to his own evil.
