Obi Okonkwo is the protagonist of the novel, Obi is a young Nigerian man who is given a scholarship to study in London. His acceptance of a bribe constitutes the main conflict of the story. Obi is prideful, ambivalent about his culture, naïve, and selfish. These are flaws in her personality.: he is also not self-reflective and finds it difficult to take control of his life.
