The first ones to beat Eliezer and the others were the German soldiers.

They were disinfected by having thick, strong smelling liquid poured on them then taking hot, short showers.

He thanked God for mud because he had new shoes and they were confiscating new shoes, but his shoes were covered in mud so the soldiers couldn't tell they were new so he got to keep them.

how did elie say he felt about the hingarian police?

Why were the Dutchman and the ''pipel'' hanged?

Dininfected via large barrels of foul-smelling disinfectant. Afterwards they showered in hot water.

Elie thanked God, because he had a pair of new shoes. Which didn't get taken away, because of the layer of mud that was on them.

How did Elie say he felt about the Hungarian police?

Elie says he felt hatred for the Hungarian police, because they were the first ones to physically beat them. Their first perpetrators.

Why was the youth from Warsaw hanged?

The 'pipel' was hanged because of knowing information about the weapons cache and dealings with the power plant espionage. Hanged to set an example to all other Jews, to not mess with German's "business".

Why were the prisoners filled with joy instead of frightened by the bombs?

Prisoners were filled with joy instead of fear for the bombs, because if their were bombs, then the war "front" was getting closer. They had a higher chance of getting liberated, they felt happy about it because they knew somebody was trying to liberate them...... (that one is iffy...)
