1. Why doesn’t Miss O’Brien give Steve a clear answer when he asks if they are going to win?

O'Brien isn't sure how it all will end.... she doesn't know if the "Steve" presented to the jury will overcome how they see him. Will they see him as just another one of the bad guys, or will they see and consider the presented defense.
