A Midsummer Night's Dream

What is the magic used? Who uses it? What does it do?

What is the magic used? Who uses it? What does it do? How does it change the story? What would the story look like if it wasn't there? How does it move the plot forward? Is it used fairly and honestly? Is it used deceptively? Why is it used? Do the characters who use magic use it the same way, or do they use it for different reasons?

This is only a short answer space. Basically any character that is part of the spirit world of the forest uses magic to varying degrees. Oberon and Puck perhaps utilize magic the most. Magic is used to facilitate the chaos and hijinks of romantic love.

Toward the beginning of the play, Oberon, king of the fairies, says this when he uses magic drops on his wife Titania:
Do it for thy true-love take;
Love and languish for his sake;
Be it ounce, or cat, or bear,
Pard, or boar with bristled hair. . .''

When magic iand the affairs of the heart create a powerful comedic mix!
